Salary: Pay Scale: 2, Point 4 (£13.05 per hour). Hours: 21 hours per week (10:30am to 1:30pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 7:00am to 10:00am then 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday and Thursday). Regular Overtime opportunities also available, including during school holidays.
Contract: Permanent Part Time, Term Time Only

Cross Lane Primary School is looking for a reliable and proactive Assistant Caretaker with additional Delivery Driver responsibilities to join our friendly primary school team. This is a varied role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school site while also assisting with transportation and deliveries of our new catering enterprise, providing other local schools with school meals.
We are looking to welcome someone who will:

- bring previous experience of working in a similar role (including a sound understanding of Health and Safety regulations);
- be conscientious and dedicated whilst maintaining the current high standards of security and maintenance at our school;
- embrace and contribute to our love of outdoor learning in our extensive Woodland Area and Allotment;
- act as a professional ambassador for our catering service and actively promote the positive values and ethos of our school;
- hold a clean full driving licence for a minimum of 10 years;
- enjoy working within our friendly and supportive team.
The main objectives of the role:
- Assist the Site Manager with general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the school premises;
- Open and secure the school buildings as required;
- Ensure the site is clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations;
- Carry out minor DIY tasks and basic maintenance;
- Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities;
- Report any faults, hazards, or concerns promptly;
- Undertake safe and efficient delivery of school meals to other Calderdale primary schools, as part of our commercial catering operation;
- Ensure hot and cold items are stored according to temperature regulations and HACCP principles to maintain food hygiene and standards;
- Conduct daily safety/condition checks on the delivery vehicle and equipment, recording data and reporting any issues to the Site or Catering Manager;
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle;
- Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, manual handling, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person;
- Act as a professional ambassador for our catering service and actively promote the positive values and ethos of our school;
